At Bai B. S. Bengallee Girls’ High School, the staff and the students celebrated the 4th International Yoga Day on June 21, 2018 with great enthusiasm.
Various yogasanas were performed in three sessions in the morning by the students of Std. I to IV, Std. V to VII, Std. VIII to X respectively. Each of the sessions started with a talk by our Yoga Teacher, Mrs. Pooja Karalkar on the importance and the benefits of yoga. She explained the healing benefits of each asana and stressed on the need to spare some time daily for practicing yoga in today’s busy and stressful life.
The practical session started with Guru-Vandana. Thereafter, under the supervision of our Yoga Teacher, everybody performed various yogasanas like the Tadasana, the Vrikshasana, the Padhastasana, the Ardhachakrasana, the Trikonasana, the Baddhakonasana, the Shashankasana, the Ardhaushtasana, the Vakrasana, the Bhujangasana, the Shalabhasana, the Makrasana, the Setubandh-Sarvangasana, the Pavan-Muktasana and the Shavasana.
The programme concluded with Pranayama being performed by all, followed by meditation.
