ANNUAL PRIZE DISTRIBUTION FUNCTION (2007 – 08)

The Annual Prize Distribution Function was held on 1st February 2007 at Patkar Hall. Dr. (Mrs.) Zenobia Dumasia was the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes.

The programme started with Saraswati Vandan followed by a Dance by the Pre – Primary section. An English Skit titled ‘Live And Let Live’ was presented by the students of the Primary section. An Indian Dance Ballet based on Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Chandalika’ was presented by the students of the Secondary section.

The following Trophies, Shields and Medals were awarded for outstanding achievements in various curricular and co-curricular activities for the year 2006 – 2007 :

1. Smt. Urvashi Dalal Shield for standing 1st at the S. S. C. Examination of March 2007 was awarded to Ruchita Jain.

2. Late Miss Hilla Meherwanji Dadina Shield for standing 1st in History at the S.S.C. Examination of March 2007 was awarded jointly to Ruchita Jain and Ayushi Zaveri.

3. Smt. Shanti Gupta Shield and Ajay Bhargava Shield and Prize for Hindi at the S.S.C. Examination of March 2007 were awarded to Rajshree Daga.

4. Seema Chatterji Shield for Hindi Elocution Competition was won by Humera Qureshi.

5. A Trophy in the memory of Late Mrs. Perin D. Mehta and Prize for the Best Parsi Pupil in the Secondary Section was awarded to Jenifer Motiwalla.

6. Late Mr. Jal . H. A. Vakil trophy and prize for the Most Outstanding Pupil Of The Year was awarded to Binita Shah.

7. Late Mrs. Shera Minoo Bhamgara trophy and prize for the Most Diligent Student Of The Year was awarded to Monika Agrawal.

8. Mrs. Manijeh Subedar Medal for the Best Student Of The Year was awarded to Vaidehi Karekar.

9. Doongersi Trophy and Certificate for the Artist Of The Year was awarded to Shruti Shah.

10. Late Falguni Batavia Trophy for standing First In Maths In Std. VI was awarded to Siddhi Shah.

11. Baby Rashida Khan Trophy and prize for General Proficiency in Std. V was awarded to Bhavi Shah.

12. Late Phiroze F. Driver Memorial Shield for the Best Guide Of The Year was awarded to Guide Rashida Pankhawala.

13. Late Hilla Daran Kanga Trophy for the Best Performance of 6th East Bombay Guide Group was awarded to ‘A’ Company.

Prizes and Certificates were also awarded to students for general proficiency and securing highest marks in various subjects.

ANNUAL SPORTS DAY

The 46th Annual Athletic Meet was held at the University Sports Pavilion on Thursday, 24th January 2008. Squadron Leader Ganesh Sawant presided over the function and gave away the prizes.

Jehanbux Muncherji Dastur Cup for the All Round Best Athlete was awarded to Julee S. Jhunjhunwala .

The Meherbai Jehanbux Dastur Shield for Cross Country Race was awarded jointly to Virgo House & Libra House. This event was held on 7th July 2007 at the Oval Maidan.

Ex - Student Sanober N. Daruwalla Trophy for Inter - House Relay Championship, Bai Bhikhaiji N. Bengali Shield for March Past & Jehanbux Muncherji Dastur Shield for the Inter - House Championship were won by Virgo House.
